Please list your experience working with people with developmental disabilities. Include your role or job, timeframes, activities.
I have over 15 years of experience working with, skills training, job developing, case managing and brokering for clients with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges. My experience includes; planning and coordinating community activities, teaching clients daily living skills to promote independence, and modeling appropriate behaviors during activities, developing and carrying out person-centered plans, and working with clients and their teams to reach compromises on differences. I have worked with clients who have a history of violent, psychotic, self-injurious behavior, autism, hearing impairments and visual impairments and non-ambulatory people. I have worked as a broker in the SDS system for over eight years. As part of a team, I have helped clients realize their dreams of independence, owning their own homes, moving into their own apartments, continuing to live with their family, realizing employment goals, and building their personal communities.
